What is an urban agrihood model?

An urban agrihood model combines the best aspects of food security and access, with shared value community development and a community land trust. This model ensures equity and community stewardship in the development of local economies and land use. The governance structure democratizes representation and accountability by activating direct community respresentation through a community membership arm, atypical in traditional nonprofit models.

Role of our model:

This agrihood model will provide the foundation and roots upon which an ecosystem of equitable social change and shared value will grow in Trenton and beyond. Housing, commercial and hybrid projects designed at a local WElab will feed revenue back into the agrihood model. Local opportunities for community members to buy-in will build wealth.
